Amberose departs Lafayette
Our Lady of Grace Comitium President, Bonnie Broussard, thanks special envoy Amberose Courville
At Our Lady of Grace Comitium’s Annual General Reunion, December 14, 2014, Legionaries thanked Amberose Courville and sent her off as she prepares to continue her apostolic work in southern Florida. Amberose spent the months of Fall in Lafayette as a special envoy of the Legion of Mary. While here, she helped to set up several new Praesidia, contributed to an E-Day by the newly-formed Our Lady of Wisdom Praesidium, and worked to help the Focus Missionaries at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Student Center on the UL Campus to understand and unite its efforts with the Legion of Mary. May the Lord reward Amberose for her work in Lafayette and bless her efforts to continue that great work for the Legion of Mary in Florida.
Legion of Mary E-Day on the UL Campus!
The newly-formed Praesidium of Our Lady of Wisdom by Ragin Cajun Catholics on the University of LA Campus in Lafayette held a Legion of Mary E-Day on Saturday, November 22. It began with Holy Mass offered by Fr. Patrick Broussard, Spiritual Director of the Praesidium, assisted by Fr. Bryce Sibley, Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Church and Catholic Student Center and Deacon Cody Miller, Assistant Spiritual Director of Our Lady of Grace Comitium. After Holy Mass, there was a workshop on Door to Door Visitation by members of the Legion of Mary Senatus in Houston, followed by two hours of Legionary visitations of dorms and apartments on the UL Campus. Legionary members of Our Lady of Grace Comitium remained in prayer before the Holy Eucharist in the chapel of Our Lady of Wisdom for the students doing the door to door evangelization on Campus. Hundreds of doors were knocked on as Legionary students invited inactive Catholics to return to the practice of our Faith, invited those interested in becoming Catholic to RCIA, and encouraged practicing Catholics to become more active by participating in activities like Bible studies, faith formation, and daily Mass, at Our Lady of Wisdom. Congrats to Jacob Tonglet, President, and all members of Our Lady of Wisdom Praesidium! Thanks to all who made the first E-Day a great success!

2013 Acies
The Handbook of the Legion of Mary states, “Bearing in mind the importance of devotion to Mary in the Legion system, each year there shall be a consecration of legionaries to Our Lady. The consecration – which shall comprise both an individual and a collective consecration – will take place on the 25 March or on a day close thereto, and will be known as the Acies. This Latin word, meaning as it does an army ranged in battle array, is appropriate to a ceremony in which the legionaries as a body assemble to renew their fealty to Mary, Queen of the Legion, and from her to receive strength and blessing for yet another year’s battle with the forces of evil.”
With this same purpose and spirit, the members belonging to the various praesidia which make up Our Lady of Grace Comitium gathered on Saturday, March 16 at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church in Lafayette. Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jason Vidrine, Spiritual Director. Immediately after Mass, Legionaries individually and collectively re-consecrated themselves to Our Lady . With their left hand on the Vexilium, they prayerfully repeated the words, ” I am all yours, my Queen, my Mother, and all that I have is yours.” Then they all gathered for the monthly Comitium meeting.
